John Allison: From Doubt to Trail Ambassador
In 2006, facing health challenges linked to stress, John Allison rediscovered his passion for running on the rugged trails of Kennesaw Mountain. With a pair of dusty Saucony shoes from the '90s and a friend's encouragement (James Casto), John took his first tentative steps back into running. Though he initially doubted his ability to navigate the dirt paths, that day marked the beginning of a transformative journey.
Since then, John hasn't stopped moving. Trail running became more than exercise; it became his lifeline, a crucial component of his physical and mental well-being. As the miles accumulated, so did John's expertise and enthusiasm for the sport. His dedication and authentic love for trail running caught the attention of industry leaders, leading to ambassador roles with Pearl Izumi, Boco Gear, Topo Athletic, and Nuun Hydration.
John's passion for running naturally led him to share his knowledge. At Fleet Feet Atlanta, he found fulfillment in fitting runners with the perfect shoes, enabling them to hit the trails with confidence and comfort. As a 5k running coach, John experienced the joy of guiding newcomers to their first finish line, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of running.
Now, John channels his wealth of experience and unwavering passion into Trail Loco, a brand born from his belief in the holistic benefits of trail running. Through Trail Loco, John aims to inspire others to embrace the physical, spiritual, and mental rewards found on the trail. The Trail Loco hat symbolizes courage, a reminder that every journey begins with a single step.
John credits his wife Lori, his partner of over four decades, for teaching him to release the past and fully embrace life's present moments and future possibilities. With gratitude for his own journey and a desire to ignite change in others, John invites you to join him in discovering the joy of going "loco" on the trails.
